The Role

Job Purpose:

To assist the Examinations Officer in the smooth running of all examinations

Responsibilities:

• To ensure the fair and proper conduct of examinations in an environment that enables a pupil to perform at their best.

• To support the Data and Exam Manager with the day-to-day operation of exam venues.

• Assisting with setting up exam venues by laying out stationery, equipment and exam papers in accordance with strict procedures.

• Closely following and enforcing exam procedures and regulations.

• Assist pupils before the exam starts by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in the venue.

• Ensure that pupils do not talk once inside the exam venue.

• Invigilate during exams, dealing with queries raised by pupils and exam irregularities in accordance with procedures.

• Check attendance during exams.

• Record details of late arrivals and early leavers and collect their paper.

• Escort pupils from venues during the exam as required and supervise pupils outside exam venue.

• Escort pupils on toilet breaks to ensure no unauthorised material is consulted and that exam regulations are observed at all times.

• Collect and deliver all papers at the end of the exam in accordance with strict procedures.

• Supervise pupils leaving exam venues, ensuring that no-one removes equipment or stationery from the venue without authorisation.

• Ensure that candidates leave the venue in a quiet and orderly manner.

• Supervise pupils when clashes occur in their exam timetable.
